7 Days in Japan: A Curated Journey
7 days & 7 nights
The Essentials, Done Right
Seven days isn’t long, but when done right, it’s enough to feel Japan the way it’s meant to be experienced. This isn’t about rushing from one landmark to another—it’s about stepping into the rhythm of the place. Walking Tokyo’s backstreets where the real life of the city unfolds, slowing down for tea in Kyoto where time moves differently, soaking in a mountainside onsen as steam curls into the crisp air. The kind of travel that lingers long after you’ve left.

"Small enough to fit in a hidden bar, big enough for great conversations"
You arrive in Shinjuku or Shibuya, where Tokyo hums with restless energy. After settling in, there’s only one thing to do—step outside. The night is neon-drenched, the streets are alive, and we start as we mean to go on: with drinks, introductions, and a meal at an izakaya where the menu is handwritten, the seats are close, and the food just keeps coming.
The morning takes us to Kanda, a place where old bookstores, coffee shops, and hidden curry houses whisper stories of Tokyo’s past. After lunch, we drift to Asakusa and Senso-ji, Tokyo’s oldest temple. Incense thickens the air, street vendors call out their specials, and time moves a little slower. Dinner? Somewhere unmarked, somewhere good.
Back in Tokyo, the morning starts at Tsukiji Market, where the seafood is fresher than fresh. Then, something completely different—a visit to TeamLab Planets, an interactive digital art space that shifts with your movements.
The city falls away as we head to Fujikawaguchiko, a lakeside town at the foot of Mt. Fuji. If the clouds part, the mountain will make an appearance. If not, there’s still plenty to do—thean open-air Kubota Itchiku Art Museum, a ryokan with onsen baths, and a multi-course kaiseki dinner that unfolds like a quiet ceremony.
A chartered bus to Nagano, where the Shinhotaka Ropeway takes us into the mountains. The air is crisp, the trails inviting, the Shirahone Hot Springs calling. This is Japan at its quietest, its most elemental.
The Shinkansen (bullet train) to Kyoto is an experience in itself—silent, smooth, impossibly fast. Kyoto greets us with Yasaka Shrine, lantern-lit streets in Gion, and the hushed beauty of Pontocho Alley. Dinner is by the Kamogawa River, where the menus change with the seasons.
An early walk along the Philosopher’s Path, where stone steps wind through trees and quiet temples. The rest of the day is yours—explore, get lost, find a teahouse where time slows to the pour of matcha.
A train ride into the cedar forests of Kifune. Lunch by the river at a kawadoko, where the wooden deck sits above the water. A slow, steady hike leads to Kurama Temple, then the Kurama hot springs, where steam rises as the mountains stand watch.
Morning in Nara, where sacred deer roam through temple gardens. A tea ceremony at Jiko-in Temple, a moment of stillness before the controlled chaos of Osaka. Dotonbori at night is bright, loud, full of life—street food stalls, late-night bars, the taste of takoyaki and the smell of charcoal grills.
A last morning in Kyoto, a final walk through a temple garden, one more perfect meal before Tokyo pulls us back.

We work closely with trusted licensed travel partners to bring carefully designed experiences to life. Below are key details to help you prepare for your trip.
Arriving in Japan & TransportationJapan’s public transport is world-class, and we ensure your itinerary is designed for seamless travel between destinations.
Airport Transfers: We recommend options such as Narita Express, Kansai Airport Express, or shared airport shuttles for a smooth arrival.
Luggage Considerations: Bullet trains require advance reservations for large suitcases (over 160 cm total dimensions). We advise traveling light with a carry-on or small suitcase for easier mobility.
Food & Dietary ConsiderationsWe help craft culinary experiences suited to your preferences, but as Japan has a rich and diverse food culture, certain dietary restrictions may be more challenging in rural areas.
Allergies & Dietary Needs: While vegetarian and vegan meals are increasingly available in cities, we recommend travelers with food allergies bring necessary precautions, as not all local restaurants can guarantee allergen-free meals.
Understanding Pricing & Local PracticesEstimated tour pricing is provided for planning purposes, and final costs are determined by licensed local partners.
Tipping Culture: Japan does not have a tipping culture, and service is included in all dining and hospitality experiences. A simple thank-you or a small gift is a common way to show appreciation.
Travel Insurance & PreparednessWe strongly recommend purchasing comprehensive travel insurance to cover unexpected changes, medical emergencies, or travel disruptions.
Japan’s travel infrastructure is reliable, but having coverage for personal health, delays, and lost luggage is always a smart choice.
Physical Activity & AccessibilityOur itineraries are designed to balance immersive exploration and comfort, but Japan’s cities and historic sites often involve walking, stairs, and uneven paths.
If mobility is a concern, let us know, and we’ll help determine if certain experiences can be adjusted.
Custom & Private JourneysWe specialize in designing personalized travel experiences and collaborating with licensed travel partners to bring them to life. If you’re interested in a private itinerary, group trip, or special experience, we’ll work with you to shape the journey to match your vision.
Group Minimums & ConfirmationEach tour requires a minimum number of travelers to proceed. If a scheduled departure does not meet this number, the licensed local operator will issue full refunds accordingly.
How Reservations WorkWe do not handle bookings or payments. Instead, we design the experience and connect you with licensed local partners who finalize reservations, payments, and operations.
Once you submit a reservation request, we assist in refining your itinerary and coordinating with the appropriate travel provider.
Reservation & Payments
Tour availability, pricing, and payments are managed by our licensed travel partners.
A deposit is required to secure your spot, with full payment due 30 days before departure—as per the terms set by the local tour operator.
We assist in coordinating your reservation details, but all financial transactions are handled directly with the licensed provider.
Modifying Your Travel DatesIf your plans change, let us know as soon as possible—we’ll help communicate with our partners to explore alternative dates.
Availability of rescheduling is subject to the policies of the licensed tour provider.
Private group tours may offer more flexibility, depending on availability.
Important: We do not process bookings or payments directly. All transactions are made with the licensed travel provider handling your tour.
Changes & Adjustments to Your Trip
-
We work closely with licensed travel partners to create well-designed itineraries. Once confirmed, changes may be subject to availability.
-
If you need to adjust your travel dates or itinerary, let us know as early as possible. We will coordinate with the licensed operator to explore possible alternatives, but changes are not guaranteed.
Flexibility & Customization-
Our itineraries are crafted for a seamless and immersive experience, but we understand that preferences vary. If you’d like to customize your journey, we can help design a tailored experience and coordinate the logistics with our partners.
Travel Insurance (Highly Recommended)-
Unexpected events can happen, from flight delays to medical emergencies. We strongly recommend purchasing comprehensive travel insurance to cover:
-
Cancellations & trip interruptions.
-
Medical emergencies & hospital visits.
-
Lost or delayed luggage.
-
Unexpected travel disruptions.
-
-
Travel insurance offers peace of mind and ensures you are protected against unforeseen circumstances.

Each tour requires a minimum number of participants to operate. If this number is not met, the licensed travel provider may cancel the tour and issue full refunds accordingly.
-
In the rare event of a tour cancellation, we can help explore alternative options for your trip.
Seamless Communication & Coordination
As many local travel operators primarily operate in Japanese, we facilitate all necessary communication on your behalf, ensuring a smooth and hassle-free experience. Travelers will not need to coordinate directly with the local provider—we handle those details for you.
